Kristen Singer lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she teaches theatre and choir at Harborside Academy, teaches private voice lessons at RG Performing Arts and directs/conducts productions for KUSD Theater Arts. Kristen also sings in the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus under the direction of Cheryl Frazes Hill. She can be seen in the film, The Fear of Looking Up , and heard in The Book of Birdie, a film she sang and arranged the music for. In Spring 2018, she starred as Donna in the musical, Mamma Mia. She was also on set as the youth director for the filming of the musical video, "On Columbine" from the album GUNS. Kristen works as a freelance music director in the Milwaukee/Chicago area.
A native of Kenosha, Kristen returned to Wisconsin after living in Florida, New York City, and spending a great deal of time in London. She was an adjudicator at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, for seven years, and has worked with the talented team at iTheatrics as a music director/accompanist on several projects. Kristen directed and produced KYPAC, a summer theatre program for elementary and middle school students, from 2016-2019. An accomplished pianist, Kristen has accompanied over forty musicals. She also performed as a singer/dancer and vocal captain on cruise ships.
Kristen graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and attended the University of Florida as a grad student, majoring in costume design. Kristen received her Masters in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy in May 2020 from Carthage College. She is the recipient of the National Society for High School Scholar's 2020 Claes Nobel Educator of the Year Award (Band/Music). Her most recent project, Bright Star, was nominated for 24 Jerry Awards and received eight awards including Outstanding Musical.
